Digital Health Discourses (Teil I, Modul DH-Methoden und Modul DH-Anwendung)
This course explores how health and illness are communicated in an increasingly digital world. Combining theory with hands-on analysis, it offers pragmatic approaches to studying digital health communication across written, spoken and multimodal contexts. Students will engage with authentic data and existing studies from diverse health-related settings, including patient–provider interactions, public health campaigns, online health communities, and the dissemination of medical information on social media. Content Note: When selecting this course please be aware that we will discuss health topics through a linguistic lens, among them various stages of illness and death. To secure your spot, attendance at the first session (10.04.) is mandatory. A high degree of active participation, preparation, and attendance is expected.
