About the Course
Social Inequality
In the first part of the seminar, central concepts, theories, data sources and methods from the field of research on social inequality were dealt with and the participants developed their own research questions. In the second part of the seminar, participants work on their research projects using appropriate statistical methods.
This research module teaches and strengthens competencies for the preparation of empirical master's theses.
This covers the specification of the research question, the formulation of hypotheses, data preparation, analysis strategies, the selection of appropriate statistical analysis methods, and the presentation of the results.
Requirements for course certification / module examinations
Regular attendance, participation in working groups, analysis of quantitative data, empirical research report on a research question in the social sciences.
